Our Department Mission is to effectively implement the City Council's policies, priorities and the Strategic Plan; ensure responsible organizational and fiscal management; and promote open and responsive communication with the community.
The City Manager’s Office is responsible for the implementation of the City Council’s policies, goals and objectives. The City Manager is accountable for the day-to-day administration of the organization which includes responsible fiscal management, organizational development, and emergency disaster management. The Office oversees and monitors the Strategic Plan, City budget, capital improvement and performance measurement programs; monitors federal and state legislative activities and provides policy recommendations to Council; oversees cable television franchise and coordinates telecommunications facilities agreements; and implements online government services.
We keep the public informed of activities and services through a full range of media and public outreach services, including quarterly newsletters, and press releases; videotaping and broadcasting of public meetings; and, development of promotional and presentation materials for special meetings and projects. Redondo Beach The Guide – a complete community resource and business guide – is produced annually in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
