Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is the Crown Jewel of the South Bay arts
scene. With its new bold, modernistic Grand Lobby, featuring a black Indian
slate exterior, a granite water feature, stainless steel and cherry wood accents
and a 21-feet high cherry ceiling, the 1,457-seat theatre is home to three
prestigious and highly successful presenters:
Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities
RBPAC is proud to be called home to the largest producing musical
theatre company in Southern California, and winner of the 2008 Ovation Award for
Best Musical (Miss Saigon),
Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities.
RBPAC's official Resident Musical Theatre Company presents their 2009 Season,
offering The Full Monty, Jesus Christ Superstar, Oklahoma!,
and Seussical the Musical.
Distinguished Speaker Series
RBPAC is honored to host the
Distinguished Speaker Series, which has
presented such dignitaries as Margaret Thatcher, Tom Brokaw, Walter Cronkite,
Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright. Their 2008-09 Season includes Pulitzer
Prize-winning author/journalist Thomas Friedman, comedian Bob Newhart, former
U.N. Ambassador John Bolton, Emmy-winning journalist Anderson Cooper,
documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, President of Liberia (and first female
president of any African nation) Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, and author/humanitarian
Greg Mortenson.
Los Angeles Ballet
RBPAC takes great pride in hosting the first professional ballet
company in the Los Angeles area in 25 years! Having completed their first two
seasons to universal critical acclaim,
Los Angeles Ballet announces their newest season, including their
newly-choreographed holiday classic The Nutcracker, plus classic works by
Balanchine and Bournonville, as well as several world premieres.

Mitchell Chang and Kala Koa Entertainment present the premier names in Hawaiian Falsetto music, including Weldon Kekauoha, Pomaika'i, Richard Ho'opi'i, Leokane Pryor and Kekaimoku Yoshikawa, with authentic hula dancing by Keikaiulu Hula Studios, Kilohana Dance Company and Halau Keali'i O Nalani.
