PLANredondo First Meeting of the GPAC took place April 27th

May 1, 2017 

The first meeting of the City's General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) took place on Thursday April 27, 2017. It was a productive meeting, which included member introductions and an overview of the Brown Act, General Plan 101, and the update process. Members now have guiding principals and basic understanding of what their roles will be as the process evolves over the next 10 months. The meeting also included City staff introductions, and was facilitated by representatives of Placeworks, Inc. a highly skilled and respected firm in the area of urban planning and land use. Placeworks will continue to provide facilitation services for each meeting. Members of the general public also attended and observed the meeting from the audience seats. Meeting materials can be viewed here.

The next GPAC meeting will take place on Thursday June 8th, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Main Library 2nd Floor Conference Room. Subsequent meetings are tentatively scheduled for the last Thursday of each month.

Waterfront Project

March 1, 2017 

The Harbor Commission began consideration of the Waterfront Project on June 13, 2016, and concluded its consideration on August 8, 2016, certifying the Final EIR and approving the project entitlements. An appeal of the Harbor Commission decision was filed, and the project was considered by the City Council at a public hearing held on Tuesday October 18, 2016 at 6:00pm, at which time the City Council denied the appeal and sustained the Harbor Commission approvals. 2013-2021 Housing Element Update

March 5, 2014 
The City of Redondo Beach as lead agency for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), intends to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) which has been prepared for the 2013-2021 Housing Element pursuant the Redondo Beach Municipal Code, and the Guidelines to the Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Traffic Signal Work Alert

June 1, 2010 
Traffic Alert - June 2, 2010 - The traffic signal cabinet at S. Catalina Avenue / Esplanade / Pearl Street will be replaced between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During part of this time, the existing signal will be set to flash while the cabinet is replaced.

The equipment which operates some of the City's traffic signal will be upgraded between March 8th and March 19, weather permitting, on multiple City streets. Work to occur between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
