Awards

The City of Redondo Beach's Information Technology Department has received the Excellence in Information Technology (IT) Practices award in 2013-2014, 2012-2013, 2010-2011, 2009-2010, 2008-2009, 2007-2008, 2006-2007, 2005-2006, and 2004-2005, a program established by the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) to recognize cities and special districts that exceed industry practices and efforts in the Information Technology arena.

The program, which is revised annually to keep up to date with changing standards, examines the practices across ten different subject areas. Three qualified IT directors review each application. The evaluation committee determines the award level at Achievement or the higher level Excellence; due to the high standards not all agencies receive an award. Every applicant receives detailed feedback and suggestions for IT program enhancements. For those agencies earning an award at either level, a plaque is presented to the applicant's governing body, providing recognition for the IT department.
